Tree Damage From an Early Storm in November 2010

The snow storm that hit Mace Meadow in November of 2010 was unusually deep and wet. Many of the trees on the course had not lost their leaves, resulting in heavy damage. As shown in the pictures below, some of the trees lost close to half their branches. The large Cedar tree that guarded hole 6 lost all but 30 feet of it's trunk. The last picture shows a section of the trunk and the short stump that remains. Through many hours of labor by our grounds crew and numerous volunteers the course is once again playable.
